Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor is set to play the lead in film producer father Boney Kapoor’s upcoming film Tevar. It is a remake of Telugu film Okkadu which will be directed by debutante Amit Sharma. Actress Sonakshi Sinha may star opposite Arjun in the film, which is expected to go on floor January 2014.
The film has recently got its name after Aditya Chopra decided to give away the title to the Kapoors. “Boney Kapoor wanted the title Tevar, which he realised was with YRF as it was a favourite of Yashji's. When Arjun told Aditya that they were keen to name the film Tevar, he gave him the title without any further delay,” reported sources.
The Ishaqzaade actor will be seen essaying a regular college kid from Agra, who is a Kabaddi champion. Arjun’s last outing was Aurangzeb, which failed to create magic at box-office. Now, apart from Tevar, he has some interesting projects lines up the hit the theatres.
He will feature in Gunday opposite Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra that is expected to release on 14 February, 2014. He has also completed shooting for Dharma Productions’ 2 States that stars Alia Bhatt and is an adoption of Chetan Bhagat’s novel 2 States-The story of my Marriage. He will also play lead in Deepika Padukone starrer Finding Fanny Fernandes.
