B-town actress Nandita Das is set to come on front of camera once again, as she is busy shooting Traces of Sandalwood, which is her maiden Spanish film. With this, the versatile actress will be seen doing what a typical Bollywood actress does.
Before this, Nandita never tried her hands in something like this. "Everyone on the sets, from the producer-scriptwriter Anna Soler-Pont, and director, Maria Ripoll to the director of photography, Raquel Fernandez and art director Anna Pujol Tauler is a woman which makes it refreshing," says the actress.
For the film, Nandita will be shooting with an all-women crew. Sources say that Anna heard of Nandita and when he was to start with the film, he contacted the actress through a common friend in Los Angeles before flying down to Mumbai to meet her a year ago. "We had a long chat. The story isn't too out-of-the-box but the treatment is interesting and the team quite wonderful," she said.
The film is said to be based on a book written by Anna. This is a story of two sisters. "My character is an actress who learns that her lost sister has been adopted and living in Spain. She goes in search of her even though the sister denies having Indian blood in her. I have a week each of shooting in Mumbai and Barcelona," informs Nandita.
Way to go!
